The road works on Austin Road is completing next week (project period: 3 January – 5 February 2020), the contractor would like to let us know what had been done and what to expect in the last week. Read their letter below (a link for pdf copy at the end of this article):
Auckland Transport and its contractor Broadspectrum wish to notify you that we are undertaking Road Maintenance works in your area. We will be doing road repairs on Austin Road. This will involve a road closure system, so please try have your cars out by 8am and we will endeavour to be completed by 5pm each day. We understand this may be of an inconvenience and thank you for your understanding while we complete our works.
This work is necessary to ensure the safety of traffic and to sustain the serviceability and appearance of the road.
Our aim is to carry out the works with minimum disruption for the Road Users.
Works are weather dependant. If bad weather delays the project, works will be programmed for the next available suitable day.
If you do not have parking available on your property, please park your vehicle away from the works to avoid any inconvenience so that the work can be completed promptly and with minimal disturbance to residents and other road users.
All work areas will be signposted for your safety. Please keep young children and animals well supervised and clear of any work area.

What do you mean by having cars out? Out of your driveway or out of the street?
Both. If the road work section covers the entrance/exit of your driveway and some parking space of the street outside your driveway, then you have to get your car(s) out of the covered area before 8am. You can park on your driveway of course, but during their working hours (8am-5pm) you won’t be able to drive out or in; definitely no parking on the street covered by the road works. If not clear or you have safety concerns, please contact project manager Laura (contact numbers at the end of post).
